Bone doubles up: two in a row at The Hummer!

HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- For the second time in as many weeks, Johnny Bone Jr. bested the best that Humboldt Speedway has to offer in USRA Modifieds.

What transpired in feature action this week was truly a pleasure to see.

Having each won a heat race, Whitey Folk had the pole, with Bone to his outside. At the green, Folk took off like a rocket and went to the bottom of the track.

Bone, however, stayed at the top of the Hummer high banks, prefering to run wide open in a long sweeping arc.

As the bottom faded, so did Folk's early dominant lead. Still, Folk was firmly in command untill a lap 8 yellow flag bunched the field.

At the onset of lap 10, Bone found the spot he wanted, took the lead, and set sail.

Meanwhile, Folk had a real challenge holding on to the runner up spot, as he faced a serious challenge from his brother, Jess Jr.

In fourth was Travis Patch.

Rodney Sigg claimed fifth.

Neal Kisner won $185 in 50/50 money. Samantha Barnhardt won a gift certificate from the Grain Bin Resturaunt in Chanute.
