After weekend off, busy stretch awaits at Lucas Oil Speedway

As Lucas Oil Speedway takes a scheduled break from action this weekend, a busy home stretch of the regular season awaits beginning Aug. 17 with Fan Appreciation Night presented by CW Ozarks/Ozarks Sports Zone.
In the next-to-last Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series program of 2019, fans will be treated to food and drink specials throughout the evening including $1 nachos & cheese, $2 hot dogs and $2 soft drinks or waters. There also will be specials in the Track Treasures Gift Shop and Diamond Bar during the evening and the first 500 fans through the spectator gates will receive gift bags.
The Pitts Homes USRA Modifieds will headline the action with a 25-lap, $1,000-to-win feature. Pure Stocks also will be a special guest class, joining the Warsaw Auto Marine & RV ULMA Late Models, Out-Pace USRA B-Mods and O'Reilly Auto Parts Street Stocks.
The Show-Me Vintage Racing Club also will return, displaying their cars on the midway before putting on a vintage exhibition race.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.
"It's hard to believe that we're into August and the Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series only has two weeks left," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "But that doesn't mean we're almost finished for the season because we have several big events remaining, into the fall."
A quick look at the other remaining USRA-sanctioned events on the 2019 Lucas Oil Speedway schedule:
Aug. 24 - Season Champions will be crowned at the Rempfer Memorial Season Championship Night presented by Bill Roberts Chevrolet-Buick and KOLR/KRBK. Also, it will be Public Safety Appreciation Night as all police, fire and rescue personnel will be admitted free with ID.
Aug. 31 - The Lucas Oil MLRA returns for the Larry Phillips Memorial presented by Rugged Radios. The Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will be racing for a $750 feature prize. In addition, there is going to be a "Party in the Pits" after practice Oct. 3 in the tech building. The Detour Dance Band will play from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Oct. 11-12 - The 6th annual MLRA Fall Nationals will see the Late Models running on Friday and Saturday. The Out-Pace USRA B-Mods also will be in action for the Clash of Champions on Friday night running a double set of heat races to determine the alphabet soup for Saturday's $3,000-to-win feature.
