Defending Out-Pace USRA B-Mod National Champion Kris Jackson of Lebanon showed a lot of patience and then made the winning pass of leader Tyler Knudtson on a lap-11 restart to take his third feature win of the season Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway.

Jackson, who already knew he would be starting back in the sixth row as last week's winner. Jackson's son had a school function Friday, so missing his qualifying heat was no big issue.

When the green flag dropped it was Knudtson grabbing the early lead with Dillion McCowan, Sam Petty and Mike Foster following. Jackson seemed to be gonig nowhere as a tight pack was in front of him.

A lap-7 caution bunched the pack up on the double-file restart as Knudtson was showing lots of speed and muscle this evening with McCowan and Petty attracted together like a magnet fighting for position. Meanwhile, Kris Jackson was battling Donnie Jackson and Brian Myers for spots as Knudtson was stretching his lead.

By lap 9, Kris Jackson shot to fourth place but had several car lengths in catching the leader while McCowan and defending track champion Petty were at war.

The final caution waved for a single-car spin on lap 11, bunching the pack again with only four laps remaining. On the restart, Kris Jackson made a hard run coming off turn 2 and now had Knudtson in his sights.

As Jackson took it hard into turn 4, Knudtson stood solid in the middle groove, but coming out of turn 4 Kris Jackson kept glued solid down low and was able to nip Knudtson at the line to be credited with the top spot.

Knudtson stayed close behind for the next two laps as Donnie Jackson was quietly moving up the ladder. When the white waved, Kris Jackson finally was able to breath with a couple more cars and claimed his third feature win out of four starts this season.

Knudtson took home the runner-up spot with Donnie Jackson finishing on the podium. The battle between early contenders McCowan and Petty resulted in contact between the duo late in the feature, sending both to the rear of the field.

Qualifying heats for the evening went to Donnie Jackson and McCowan as the evening's redraw pulled a three-row inversion.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action featuring Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Thompson's U-Pull-It-Auto Parts of Lebanon resumes next Friday, May 3, with racing action at 8 p.m.
