Lebanon Midway announces date, USRA Modifieds to headline Bud Perry Memorial
Officials at the Lebanon Midway Speedway has announced the make-up date and information for the 2nd Annual Bud Perry Memorial as the high-horsepower USRA Modifieds will headline the event on Saturday, Oct. 27, with a $700-to-win, $100-to-start feature awarding Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points.
The event will be a two-day show on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27.
Friday night action will see the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods plus Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Hornets running a full show with qualifying heats and feature events with the normal race night purse being paid out.
The top 6 finishers for each feature will lock into the first 3 rows of Saturday night's championship. The Out-Pace USRA B-Mods will be awarded Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points for the Friday night feature.
On Saturday night, drivers will draw for qualifying heats and will use passing points to help line-up behind the top 6 from Friday night.
The USRA Modifieds will be competing in qualifying heats and see the passing points system with the top 6 to redraw for the main event. Earlier this season a strong field of USRA Modifieds came in for a special event with Ryan Gilmore holding back Robbie Reed and Kevin Blackburn for the win. Last season, Jason Pursley won the USRA Modified feature while 2018 Lebanon Midway Speedway Out-Pace USRA B-Mods champion Sam Petty held back 2017 champion Tyler Brown to claim the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.
Saturday night features will pay the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods $500 to win and $75 to start.
There is no car entry fee with pit passes each night at $35, Grandstand adult prices are $10 for Friday with Saturday tickets $15. Friday race time will be 7 p.m. with Saturday night action starting at 6:30 p.m.
Track owner Jack Jones understands the cost to drivers and decided to option this format for the two-day event. It costs the drivers each night and by running this and paying out each night and running a full show gives everyone a better event. Drivers who can't make it on Friday night, don't get such a big disadvantage by only being there on Saturday night, yet we are still awarding those drivers who race on Friday night. Instead of putting all the money on one night, we feel we did pretty good with the payout on Saturday night while Friday night pays our regular payout except it pays $35 to start a feature on Friday. Drivers who compete in a last chance feature and don't advance will receive $35.
The Lebanon Midway Speedway is located 6 miles east of Lebanon on Hwy. 32 and a quarter-mile on Hwy. B with seating for more than 2,500 fans. The track has been in operation since 2004.
