When Triston Dycus gets a lead he tends to not look back and that was once again the case at Lawton Speedway Saturday night. Dycus, of Alvarado, Texas, was the winner in the Touring Outlaw Modified Series feature event and at times he was making the field look like they had four flat tires.

But it wasn't a cakewalk for Dycus as he had strong competition from second place finisher Bo Day of Greenville, Texas, and third-place challenger and points leader C.A. Nix who lives just a few miles from the speedway in Lawton.

Dycus needed a solid restart after a lap-10 spin by Bobby Ruffin, then he needed another good jump after a incident involving Stanley Reed of Oklahoma City and Donnie Shipp of Princeton, Texas, on lap 11. And just when Dycus was cruising to the double checkers, Chris Cary from Altus spun in turn 2 just three laps from the finish. But Dycus got a great start and was never threatened to the end. Danny Veal from Princeton, Texas, finished fourth and Charlie Smith of Forney, Texas, came in fifth.

Heat #1 was won by Cary with Day second and Dycus third. Heat #2 saw Ruffin win with Chris Huckaba of Midlothian, Texas, second and Reed third. Heat #3 was taken by Smith with Veal second and Kale Westover from Blair third.

It's a back-to-back weekend for the TOMS gang as they will run at West Texas Raceway in Lubbock, Texas, on Friday July 20, and then at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, on Saturday, July 21. Also, mark your calendar for Saturday, July 28, for the Hella Shrine Classic that be held at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas.
