Josh Cain won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod main event on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M.

Besides fireworks, red flags were abundant Saturday night at the Southern New Mexico Speedway with fully packed grandstands to wtiness the Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods.

With 18 Holley USRA Stock Cars checking in, we lost several cars in the 25-lap main event including Pete Vargas who, on his birthday, lost a tire off his No. 777 machine that would bounce around in turn 3.

Up front, Jed Smith had his hands full holding off the No. 9 machine of Jimmy Ray. Ray found something coming out of turn 2 and made his way up through the field but fell short as Smith claimed another win.

In what has become his signature move, Smith once again climbed the front-stretch fence to the roaring applause and cheers of the fans. Ray came in second and Bryan Bagwell had a solid third-place finish followed by Bryan Bennett and Paul Telles Jr.

Twenty-nine Out-Pace USRA B-Mods checked in for racing action and all 29 started the exciting and entertaining main event where Josh Cain took the lead and did not look back.

Billy Roy Harris, who is more impressive every single time he runs, finished second. Justin Allen came in third after battling his own car most of the race. Ageless Sherman Barnett finished fourth with Mingo Jauregui rounding out the top five.
