Current Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points leader Kris Jackson of Lebanon took the lead from J.C. Newell at the halfway point to collect his eighth Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature win at the Lebanon Midway Speedway Friday night on the smooth, slick racing surface coming from the 10th starting position.

The field took the green flag with current track points leader Sam Petty and Newell bringing the field down with Newell, who was makng his first start of the season at Midway, getting the jump on Petty who was in a back-up car while his motor was being repaired.

Newell was looking strong up front with Petty and Tyler Knudston battling hard for second place as Jackson was picking his way through the pack. The quick pace slowed on lap 3 as Brian Myers and Dillion McCowan got together with both restarting at the rear.

On the restart, Jackson shot to the outside groove and moved into third and then moved around Knudston for second to set his sights on Newell.. After a great battle, Jackson made the move on the top side on lap 8 and pulled away, leaving a tight pack for the runner-up spot.

Once in front, Jackson put it on cruise control for the win while all eyes were on the race for second with Petty, Newell and Knudston door to door. A wild finish saw Newell catch the top groove while racing with Petty with the car going for a wild ride and getting into the turn 3 wall while coming for the checkered.

Following Jackson was Petty, Knudston, Dayton Newell and Brian Myers.

Action continues next Friday night, June 30, with a regular racing program featuring a special on-track autograph session. On Tuesday July 3, the Lebanon Midway Speedway will hold a regular points event featuring Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by S&S U-Pull-It Auto Parts with a fireworks show during intermission.
