No practice Tuesday, season opener Wednesday at Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- With additional last-minute work to be done to the racing surface and grounds at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, official from RL Promotions have canceled the Tuesday night practice session.
The 2007 season opener will take place this Wednesday, April 18, at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster featuring the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series.
In action will be four USRA-sanctioned classes: Modifieds, Stock Cars,B-Mods and Hobby Stocks. The event will also serve as the debut of the popular B-Mod division as part of the weekly Wednesday night card at the famed facility. In a USRA B-Mod exhibition race last September, Matt Lettow held off Ryan Gustin for the victory.
Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. while spectator gates open at 5:30. Hot laps will start around 7:15 and the first green flag is slated to wave at 7:30 sharp.
General admission adult tickets are $9 while juniors (12-17 years old) and seniors (62 and older) get in for $7. Kids ages 11 and under get in for FREE. Pit passes are $20.
Defending track champions are Brad Pinkerton (Modifieds and Stock Cars) and Nathan Wood (Hobby Stocks). Wood also went on the capture the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series National Championship in the Hobby Stock division.
