Current Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national points leader Kris Jackson took the lead at the halfway point from J.C. Morton and then held back repeated attempts from the former national champ in capturing his fifth feature win in the Tony Roper Memorial held Sunday evening at the Lebanon Midway Speedway before a capacity crowd.

Brian Webster brought the field to the green with Morton flanking him on the outside as Morton took the opening lead with Webster, Jackson and a fast-moving Matt Rose in tow.

Morton was setting a quick pace as third-starting Jackson was glued to Morton while Webster was battling with Jackson.

With the racing action tight throughout the pack, Jackson and Morton were keeping the crowd on the edge. On lap 10, Jackson moved around Morton as Morton was keeping the pressure on while Rose was starting to gain on the lead duo.

A late caution on lap 16 made the already tight field set for the final lunge as Jackson was finally able ot put a little distance between himself and Morton.

The win was worth $777 to Jackson as Morton pocketed $500 for his runner-up effort. Rose drove a solid race to third with "B" feature winner and defending track champion Tyler Brown just nipping Sam Petty for fifth-place honors.

Qualifying heats went to Webster, Petty and Jackson with Webster earning the pole through the passing points system.

Action continues Friday night, June 1, with kids bike races and the high-speed action of the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods, plus Legends Cars, Street Stocks, Hornets, Pure Stocks, Midwest Modz and Bombers. Racing starts at 8 p.m.
