Dillon Anderson won the Holley USRA Stock Car feature.

Dillon Anderson and Dan Hovden visited a familiar victory lane Sunday night as the pair of Decorah, Iowa, drivers won their respective Iron Man Challenge main events during the 11th Annual Nordic Nationals presented by Weis Buick GMC at the Upper Iowa Speedway.

Anderson, whose last Iron Man Challenge triumph came 33 starts ago during the USRA Nationals at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City in 2014, took off from the pole position and never looked back en route to a $725 payday in the caution-free 20-lapper for the Holley USRA Stock Cars presented by Medieval Chassis.

The 2012 Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stock national champion held off fellow Decorah driver and front-row starter Kevin Donlan for the win while Calmar’s Lynn Panos was a close third ahead of Mitch Hovden and
Danny Sacquitne.

Three-time Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national champ Matt Jones was sixth, 2016 Iron man titlist Kyle Falck scored the seventh spot, Brian Mahlstedt was eighth, defending Iron Man champ Derek Green finished ninth and Brayden Gjere rounded out the top ten.

In Sunday’s 20-lap main event for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Pace Performance, Dan Hovden dominated from start to finish, collecting a $600 paycheck in the process and padding his Iron Man Challenge points lead as he seeks to repeat his 2017 title run.

Waterloo’s Ryan Maitland registered a career-best runner-up finish while two-time Iron Man Challenge champion Cory Crapser claimed the third spot. Junior Boyer was fourth with 2013 Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national champion Troy Hovey fifth.

Casey Knutson, Alex Zwanziger, Ben Moudry, Justin O'Brien and Brandon Maitland completed the top ten.

Dan Hovden wn the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

Scott Spilde of Cresco led all 18 laps of the Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stock feature, holding back the challenges of 2009 national champ Chris Hovden for the $300 top prize. Steve Larson, current national points leader Brady Link and tenth-starting Brian Radloff were the next three to cross the finish line.

Tyler Schlumbohm, Paul Seabrooke, Steve Holthaus, Jay Mensinck and Brennan Welsh finished sixth through tenth, respectively.

Scott Spilde won the Cook Racing Supplies USRA Hobby Stock feature.

With just three days off, Iron Man Challenge competitors in both classes embark on a three-night excursion through Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota. Action begins this Thursday, May 31, at the Sioux Speedway, Sioux Center, Iowa, followed by a Friday, June 1, clash at the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa. The Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, Minn., wraps up the tripleheader on Saturday, June 2.
