Bloomfield, Memphis Frost Busters canceled

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa -- The start to the 2007 racing season at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway and the Pepsi Scotland County Speedway will have to wait one more week.

After heavy rainfall on Wednesday night and throughout Thursday and Friday, officials at RL Promotions have been forced to pull the plug on Friday and Saturday’s inaugural Frost Buster events at the 3/8-mile clay oval speedplants.

But race fans won’t have long to wait before the roar of engines once again engulfs the facilities. The season opening events will now be Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, when the high-powered stars and cars of the O’Reilly United States Modified Touring Series invades Bloomfield and Memphis for the 2nd Annual Iowa-Missouri Border War.

Friday’s event at the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway will also be the first track points night for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Hornets. With the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds headlining the program, the USRA Modifieds will have their first points night the following Friday, April 13.

Gates will open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7. Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under get in for FREE. Pit passes will be $25.
