Bloomfield season to close with a bang at inaugural Pizza Hut Fall Festival
BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (Oct. 2) -- The Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway will put an exclamation point on the most successful racing season ever at the Davis County Fairgrounds this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-7, with two big days of high-powered action featuring the final appearances of the season by the Spilman Auto Parts USRA Modifieds, Hougland's Repair Shop USRA Stock Cars, Kirkland Auto USRA Hobby Stocks and Kollision Korner Hornets.
Qualifying heat races and preliminary features will take place on Friday, Oct. 6, at the 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval. Gates will swing open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 and racing at 7:15. Admission is just $10 for adults, with juniors (ages 12 to 18) and seniors (62 and older) getting in for $8.
The program on Saturday, Oct. 7, will be jam-packed with last chance qualifying races and championship features in all classes. Gates open at 4, hot laps begin at 6 and the green flag waves at 6:30. Adult grandstand tickets are only $12 for this huge event, while juniors and seniors get a seat for $10.
Children under 12 are admitted free of charge both days!
Spilman Auto Parts USRA Modifieds will headline the event with a $2,000 top prize awaiting Saturday's winner and $150 to start the main event. Hougland's Repair Shop USRA Stock Cars will battle for $1,000 to win and $100 to start, while Kirkland Auto USRA Hobby Stock pilots will fight to the finish for $500 to win and $70 to start Saturday's finale. The always-exciting Kollision Korner Hornets will have a $200 paycheck going to the winner with $40 to start to main event.
