MAYETTA, Kan. -- It will be a big Fourth of July Weekend at Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., with two big nights of racing in three days at the fast 4/10 mile Speedway. Both nights will feature all regular classes including: USRA Modifieds, Superstocks, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Hobby Stocks and Pony Stocks. Special visiting classes will include the Thundersprints on Saturday, and the Vintage Cars on Monday.

The United Rentals Fireworks display will light up the sky on Saturday night in addition to the racing action. Fans who attend the races on Saturday can present their ticket stub on Monday to receive 1/2 price on their adult admission. Monday will also serve as a make up date for the Annual Oren Covert Memorial, which was forced to be cancelled on June 17 due to rain.

Although we are only approaching mid-season, the point races have already began to heat up. Travis Patch holds the track point lead in the USRA Modifieds over Mark Zorn, as well as the 3rd position in the USRA National Standings. Travis Tenpenny and Matt Stallbaumer continue their dual atop the Superstock standings, as they are tied at 304 points each. The Weyer Brothers are 1-2 in the USRA Stock Car division, with Leif holding a slight advantage over his twin Eric. Tim Patch moved back into a tie with Waylon Banks in the USRA Hobby Stock points, after a tough weekend for Banks. Brad Hill holds a slight lead in the Pony Stocks, and Chad Meinholdt holds the top spot in Thundersprints.

Racing on both Saturday on Monday will begin at the same times. Gates will open at 5 pm, hot laps start at 7, and races start at 7:30. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children 7-13, and ages 6 and under are admitted free. Fans presenting their ticket stub from Saturday on Monday night will receive 1/2 price on an adult admission.
