WINSTON, Mo.—We all know the 2016 racing season is winding down. For most local tracks, racing in this area begins in March and ends in October. USRA recognizes this same time frame as USRA national points will be awarded to each driver based on his/her best twenty (20) point nights in class from March 4 through Oct. 30. We all know we are facing a five- to six-month time frame without racing.

Two weeks remain in the 2016 racing season at I-35 Speedway, this Saturday, Oct. 22, and the following Saturday, Oct. 29. This is your last chance to get your racing fix with local dirt track racing before the season concludes. This is a last chance for racers competing in the USRA classes to better their 20 best point nights and move up in the national rankings. So, before you as a fan say what are we going to do tonight since racing is over, make your plans to be at I-35 Speedway these next two Saturdays. As a USRA competitor before the season gets away and you realize you could have improved your national point position, make your plans to be at I-35 Speedway these next two Saturdays.

We always have fun at I-35 Speedway. Along with racing we have Theme Nights. This week’s theme is in honor of our hunters. Dress in your camo or orange to support the hunters. The last week of the season will be in honor of our military and first responders. Heartland Missions and Motorsports Kids Power Wheels will have their last point race of the season this Saturday Night.

These last two weeks the classes in competition will be the USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods plus E Mods, Pure Stocks, Chargers and Sport Compacts. Driver’s meeting is at 6:00, Hot laps begin at 6:15 and racing starts at 7:00 P.M. General admission is $12, seniors 62 and over are $10, children 7-12 are $6 and children 6 and under are free. I-35 Speedway is located just a short drive north of Liberty, Mo., at exit 64.

The I-35 Speedway banquet will be held on November 12, 2016 at the A.V. Spillman Event Center, 308 S. Broadway, Jamesport, MO 64648. Tickets for the Banquet can be purchased for $25 at the front office which includes Social Hour from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, Dinner from 5:30 to around 7:00 pm, with the Awards Presentation starting at 7:30 pm. After the awards, will be DJ music and dancing the night away. There will be Door Prizes, Silent Auction, Cash Bar and fun for all! Make your plans now to attend.
