MAYETTA, Kan. -- Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., is gearing up for the annual Don Garst Memorial race to be held this Saturday, May 27. This annual tradition is held to honor Thunderhill's first flagman and local racing legend, Don Garst.
This year's event will be highlighted by a memorial lap, while an extra $100 and a special edition trophy will be awarded to the top finisher in each of Thunderhill's regular racing divisions.
USRA Modifieds will be the feature event this weekend as Travis Patch looks to get back on the winning track. Patch claimed the first three features of the season, but has not seen victory lane in the last two races. Patch is also looking to continue his run at a USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series track and national championship as he leads the track points standings and has moved into the fourth spot in the national standings.
