I-44 Speedway begins new contest
LEBANON, Mo. -- Tired of waiting until football season to tailgate at the big games?
Lebanon I-44 Speedway is giving fans an incentive to celebrate on the Wild Side.
Starting this Saturday, April 29, I-44 Speedway will offer a season-long contest for those in tier parking.
Each week, the vehicle that is most decorated will receive a prize of two free tickets to the track.
Hoffman Race Cars is also donating a case of beer to the winning vehicle.
"The Wild Side is legendary for having a good time on the back stretch," track promoter Randy Mooneyham said. "We just want to thank them for being such a good crowd and to give them another reason to come back and have a great time."
Mooneyham was inspired to hold the contest by the tailgaters at the Kansas City Chiefs football games.
"Anyone that can dress up their vehicle and have a good time like that deserves an award," Mooneyham said.
Fans are encouraged to be creative, yet respectful -- bringing flags, banners, signs -- anything that expresses they are in a fun atmosphere.
Judging will be conducted by track staff.
"We can't wait to see what people can come up with," Mooneyham added.
