Jake Timm won the Holley USRA Stock Car feature.

FORT DODGE, Iowa—Opening night of the $100,000 Road to Independence took place Tuesday night at the Frontier Speedway, and taking the first checkers of the week were Jake Masters, Cole Denner and Myles Michehl.

Steve Jackson paced the first three laps of the Holley USRA Stock Car main event before giving way to Masters, who led Jackson over the final 12 laps to the finish line.

Former USRA national champion Nathan Wood was third, current Iron Man Series points leader Kyle Falck finished fourth and Jon DeBoer rounded out the top five.

In Out-Pace USRA B-Mod action, Denner led the first lap of the “A” Main but defending USRA national champ Andy Bryant wrestled the lead away on lap 2.

Undeterred, Denner fought his way back in front of Bryant with three laps remaining and went on to score his first Iron Man Series victory and pad his points lead in the division.

While Bryant held on for runner-up honors, Jared Timmerman took third ahead of Brad Ratcliff and Chad Krug.

Cole Denner won the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature.

Fort Dodge resident Myles Michehl claimed victory and a $400 paycheck in winning the USRA Hobby Stock feature race.

Polesitter Matt Byrne held on to finish second, followed by Scott Spilde, Matt Mundt and Cory Roe.

Myles Michehl won the USRA Hobby Stock feature.

Racing continues Wednesday and Thursday, June 29-30, at the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, for the inaugural Coors Light Silver Bullet Twin 25 presneted by United Beverage.
