Race day draws closer at I-35 Speedway
WINSTON, Mo.—As each day passes it is another day closer to the local racing season starting another year of fun at the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo. We are so close we can almost smell the fuel, our memories are giving us the roar of racing engines and the weather is indicating it is time to go racing.
This month you will see racing activity begin to happen at I-35 Speedway.
We are only a few days away from I-35 Speedway holding practice on March 12. Track prep gurus Mike Johnson and Mike Knight have already been out on the track rolling it with the sheep’s foot and grading it in preparation for practice day.
The track will receive even more attention in the next few days, but that is not all that has been accomplished.
We have previously published there is a new bring-your-own-chair area that has been completed.
The picnic/camping area which work began before the 2015 season was in the books, has received its final grading and will be available from the start of the season.
The expansion of the pits which occurred last race season has now had the new light poles installed.
Additionally, trees have been trimmed and new rustic gardens have been added.
All these improvements are to ensure you the race fan and you the racer have a great enjoyable experience visiting I-35 Speedway.
After practice on Saturday, March 12, the first race event will be held on Sunday, March 20, when the USMTS Modifieds and the USRA Iron Man Series featuring Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods invade the track.
Saturday, March 26 will be opening night for the weekly series featuring USRA Modifieds, Holley USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods plus Chargers, Pure Stocks and E Mods, and will include the WAR Series Non-Winged Sprint Cars and traveling Mod Lites.
Make your plans to be there for these March events at the track where the race fan gets the most racing for their money.
