I-35 Speedway continues best in Saturday night racing July 18
WINSTON, Mo.—The fun continues at I-35 Speedway this Saturday evening, July 18, as we continue the race for the championship in the weekly six classes. So far this year I-35 Speedway has had seven different winners in the USRA Modifieds, eight different winners in the USRA B-Mods and four different winners in the USRA Stock Car class.
There is always close racing in all the classes.
The visiting class this week is the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers and the Show Me Vintage Racers. Last time these two classes competed together there were 18 vintage racers in attendance and they were thanking Mike and Kyle Johnson for putting the two classes together on the same night. This many vintage cars together allowed for a great feature race of old time restored race cars. It brought back memories of Riverside Stadium, a Saturday night track which closed in 1988 but had been a long time place to be in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.
Talking about fun, just wait until intermission when announcer Rick Staley has challenged the Hobby Stock drivers versus the USRA Stock Car drivers in a special tug of war on the front straight. Who can out pull whom, it will be fun to see!
Make your plans now to be at I-35 Speedway this Saturday. Fans check out and see what owner Mike Johnson has improved this week. Every week for the last several weeks there has been improvements, additions, or something to improve the fan amenities. I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off Interstate 35. Gates open at 4:00 P.M., Adults are $12, Seniors (62 and over) $10, Children 7 to 12 are $6 and younger than 7 are free. We look forward to seeing this Saturday for Dirt Track Racing at its Best!
