HARTFORD, S.D.—Nick Barger followed up a nice Friday night run at Rapid Speedway with his first I-90 Speedway USRA B-Mod win this year on Saturday. After an opening caution sent pole-sitter Chris Moore to the pits, Barger took the restart from the inside of row three. He passed four cars on the opening lap to take the lead. Barger was locked into a groove but cautions and an accident pushed the race to the time limit. Fellow competitor Thor Anderson had been racing to the front and had a legitimate chance to overtake Barger, but Anderson spun in the fourth turn on the green-white-checkered finish. Normally a 15-lap event, the race ended at nine laps and with Barger in victory lane after an impressive run. Points leader Dennis Martin managed a second place finish followed by Andrew Ahlers. Tim Dann made it up to sixth after winning the B Feature.

Maybe the USRA B-Mod drivers had grown impatient after waiting in staging for the USRA Hobby Stocks to go checkered. For the third time in four weeks, their feature was full of cautions and stoppages. The time limit forced the USRA Hobby Stock feature to go green-white-checkered three laps short of a complete race. Justin Bolluyt led the first lap but Tim Waltner got by on lap two. Waltner led the rest of the way finishing ahead of Derrick Scott and Dustin Gulbrandson. Fourth place finisher Michalob Voeltz started 20th.

All five classes are back in action Saturday night. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. Racing starts at 7:00. I-90 Speedway welcomes the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 Sprint Cars back on Saturday, July 4.
