WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- The new Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas, Grand Opening Bash was this past Friday, July 25, and a fantastic crowd witnessed 87 race teams competing.

RRS officials would like to thank everyone for their support of the event, and for coming out on such a hot summer night.

It has also answered the question if the Wichita Falls area wants dirt track racing. Clearly, the answer is a resounding “yes!”

Moving right along, this coming Friday, August 1st, RRS will host another big night of racing that includes Champ Sprints and USRA Modifieds (each paying $1,000 to win), Limited Modifieds, Pro Stocks and Mini Stocks. Racing kicks off at 8pm.

Added bonus! Limited Modifieds will be racing at RRS this Friday for $750 to win! 2nd place will take home $450, while the 3rd place finisher will receive $300. The remainder of the Limited Modified purse is as posted for regular events.

Current NWS forecasts show extremely pleasant racing conditions, with temps in the lower 80’s at race time, dropping into the 70’s by the final checkers.

Adult tickets are just $12 (ages 12-64), while Kids are $5 (ages 6-11), ages 5 and under are free (with adult admission), and Seniors/Active Military just $8. All pit passes are $30.

We hope everyone enjoyed their first night at the speedway last Friday, and the RRS officials are making every effort to continue to tweak areas that can be improved upon – on both sides of the fence.

• Pits open at 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Draw Cut off & Drivers Meeting at 7pm sharp, Track Packing at 7:15pm, Hot Laps at 7:30pm, Opening Ceremonies at 7:55pm, and racing starts at 8pm
• General Admission just $12 (ages 12 to 64)
• Kids (ages 6-11) just $5
• Ages 5 and under admitted free with Adult admission
• Active Military and Seniors (Ages 65+): $8
• All Pit Passes $30
• No outside food, drinks and/or coolers allowed through ticket gates; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available.
