USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods in action for Iron Man Challenge clashes at Bloomfield Friday, Winston Saturday
BLOOMFIELD, Iowa—USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods will share the spotlight this weekend when the Iron Man Challenge invades the Mountain Dew Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa, and I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26.
The winner of the USRA Stock Car main event each night will pocket $750 and drivers taking the green flag in the main event get no less than $100.
USRA B-Mods will be battling for a top prize of $600 and $75 to start both nights.
Leading the charge for the USRA Stock Cars are three drivers that epitomize the best of the best in the full-fendered division.
Tom Schmitt of Independence, Iowa, is a two-time USRA Stock Car national champion and the 2012 Iron Man champ.
With wins at the Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway and Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., he is two-for-two this season and leads the standings coming into this weekend.
Behind Schmitt, former USRA Hobby Stock and USRA Stock Car national champion Mitch Hovden of Decorah, Iowa, lurks in second after taking runner-up honors behind Schmitt in both of this year’s contests.
Steve Jackson of Polk City, Iowa, who garnered two IMCA Stock Car national titles and five Super Nationals wins before stepping up to the USRA Stock Cars, sits third in the standings.

Logan Martin’s three top-five finishes during King of America IV at the Humboldt Speedway in March puts the youngster from West Plains, Mo., atop the USRA B-Mod standings.
Current USRA B-Mod national points leader Jake Richards of Edwardsville, Kan., is second while Ethan Isaacs of Bonner Springs, Kan., is third with a swarm of drivers close behind.

At Bloomfield on Friday, adult tickets are $17, kids ages 7-14 are $5 and children 4 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Coupons good for $2 off adult admission can be found at Casey’s General Stores locations in Bloomfield, Eldon and three in Ottumwa on Friday.
The pits will open at 4 p.m., grandstands and concessions open at 5, hot laps are at 6:30 and the first green flag is slated to wave at 7 p.m.

Pits open at 4 p.m., grandstands open at 5, hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. The TrackSide Bar & Grill is open before, during and after the races.

Entry fees each night for the USRA Stock Cars are $25 for licensed USRA drivers or $35 for non-licensed driver. USRA B-Mod entry fees are $20 for licensed or $30 for non-licensed.
In addition to earning valuable points toward the Iron Man Challenge championship, drivers in both classes will also earn national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.
Mitch Hovden is the defending Iron Man Challenge USRA Stock Car champion while Cory Crapser of Chippewa Falls, Wis., captured the 2013 title for the USRA B-Mods.
