GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. -- The evening kicked off at Valley Speedway on Saturday with an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. After all the eggs were found, it was down to business as the first race hit the track for round three of the 2014 season.

Brad Smith led the USRA B-Mods to the green with Dean Wille in second. Wille looked to be a serious contender for the top spot until lap 3 when he was forced to retire to the pits with a flat tire.

With Wille off to the pits, first-year B-Mod driver Spencer Stephens took over the second spot. Smith opened up a small gap on Stephens, however, at the halfway point Stephens began to close the gap. Behind Stephens, Jeremy Price made his way from sixth to the third position.

Stephens got close to Smith, but Smith seemed to find another gear as he opened the lead back up with only a handful of laps left.

Smith took the win, followed by Stephens and Price.

After the race Smith gave his trophy to a young fan and later signed the trophy.

The USRA Modifieds took the track for a 25-lap action-packed race. Fans were on the edged of their seat as Gunner Martin and Dean Wille fought for the top spot.

 Martin jumped to the top spot on lap 1 but Wille was a close second. Early in the race, both drivers set a fast pace running a high groove on the track.

 As the race progressed, both Martin and Wille tried multiple lines running high and then low, separated lap after lap by the slimmest margin.

 Wille made several attempts at the top spot but Martin kept Wille behind him.

 With only three laps left, Wille stepped up the pressure and Martin was forced to run perfect laps.

Martin didn't miss a step as he took home the win by a slim margin over Wille. Nick Pence brought home third.

Martin’s win marked his first in a Modified.
