Iron Man Challenge 2014 season gets underway Friday-Saturday at Humboldt Speedway
HUMBOLDT, Kan.—The fourth season for the popular Iron Man Challenge series kicks off this Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, with both USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods in action at the Humboldt Speedway.
While the USRA B-Mods have made previous trips around the 3/8-mile clay oval in Humboldt, Kan., this weekend’s tilt will be the first for the full-fendered USRA Stock Cars.
USMTS Modifieds will be headlining the two-day show to give fans three great classes on non-stop action to shake off those winter blues.
The winner of the USRA Stock Car main event each night will pocket $750 with each driver taking the green flag getting no less than $100. USRA B-Mods will be battling for a top prize of $600 and $75 to start on Friday and Saturday.
Entry fees for the USRA Stock Cars are $25 for licensed or $35 for non-licensed driver each night. Entry fees for the USRA B-Mods are $20 for licensed or $30 for non-licensed.
This weekend’s doubleheader will award Iron Man Challenge points each night. The champions of each division will garner $1,500 at season’s end.
Points throughout the 2014 Iron Man Challenge campaign will include the best twelve (12) finishes for USRA Stock Cars and best fifteen (15) finishes for USRA B-Mods. To be eligible for points funds, drivers must possess a valid USRA license, utilize the American Racer KK704 tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the Iron Man Challenge events for their division.
Licensed USRA drivers in both classes will also earn national points in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.
On Friday at Humboldt, gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps begin at 7 and racing starts at 7:30. All start times are one half-hour earlier on Saturday with the first green flag waving at 7 p.m.
