BAYTOWN, Texas—John O Whittington of Vidor, Texas, conquered a strong field of USRA Limited Mods Friday night, winning the 20-lap main event at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.

Whittington was dominant over the last half of the race and streaked beneath the checkered flag with a 10-car-length advantage to take home the $1,000 top prize.

Cade Dillard, who won back-to-back USRA Limited Mod features last weekend at the South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, finished second with Thursday night’s winner, Kevin Dupont, claiming the third spot.

Shane Hebert and Sean Jones rounded out the top five.

The 5th Annual Texas Spring Nationals presented by Double H Bands continues Saturday at the Royal Purple Raceway with a $1,500 paycheck awaiting the winner of the USRA Limited Mod finale. USMTS Modifieds will share the spotlight for the third straight night.

The pit gate opens at 2 p.m., grandstands open at 4, the drivers meeting is at 5:30 and racing begins at 6 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12 and children 5 and under get in for free. Pit passes are $40.

The Royal Purple Raceway is a modern facility with a main grandstand seating capacity of 7,500 which includes fourteen VIP luxury suites and boasts a modern Musco Lighting system suitable for television productions.
