Van Engen in convincing victory at I-90 Speedway

HARTFORD, S.D. -- The 3rd annual Loren Barstad Memorial presented by Automotive Services Inc. became a true full-night event this season as drivers raced for extra money to win in every division Saturday at the I-90 Speedcway.

Mitch Van Engen was a convincing winner in the USRA B-Mod feature. Van Engen, who has been an occasional visitor to I-90 Speedway, took control of the race after passing Tim Dann on the fourth lap.

Van Engen then went on to lap several cars en route to a commanding victory—his first ever at I-90 Speedway—which originated from the fifth row.

Harvey Vande Weerd ran second and Dave Kennedy, third, was the best of three Gary's Tire Service entries.

Kids Night is on the schedule for next Saturday, May 18, with free race car rides for kids prior to pre-race ceremonies.
