Forecast frustrations continue at ‘The Creek’


SPRING VALLEY, Minn. -- As the racing community patiently awaits opening day, the frustrations mount. All winter long we've missed the smell, sound and speed of our high-powered heroes, and because of Mother Nature we'll have to wait yet another week.

That's right race fans, the practice session and season openers at the Deer Creek Speedway have yet again been postponed. Practice is now scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m. and is open to all classes. Teams are urged to bring their transponders to ensure they are working properly. The times will also be placed on the scoreboard. Pit passes are $20 and it's free in the grandstands.

The first points race of the season will kick off on Saturday, May 4, at 5 p.m. Draw cut off and the pit meeting will take place at 4:30 at the scales. Teams are asked to arrive early to ensure the proper paperwork and pre-race inspections can be performed. RACEceivers and transponders will be required with a limited quantity available to rent. Pit passes are $25, adult grandstand tickets are $12 and kids 12 and under get in for free.

On the card for the event will be the WISSOTA Late Models, USRA Modifieds, WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Mods, USRA B-Mods and WISSOTA Street Stocks.
