Springfield Raceway to open April 20
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Raceway will open the action-packed 2013 season on Saturday, April 20, with the Don Haase Memorial presented by Budweiser and the Will Fischer Distributing Company in Springfield.
Action will feature ASCS Sprint Cars, USRA Modifieds, USRA B-Mods, Midwest Modz and Legends.
This opening race will also honor former Speedway official Don Haase, who was an official when Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland bought the track and was set to become the flagman before the 2008 season when a sudden illness overcame him and he passed away before the season began.
Pit gates will open at 2 p.m. while hot laps begin around 5:45 and racing is slated to start at 6:30. Local division drivers meeting will be around 5:30 and drivers draws closes at 6 p.m. Grandstand gates open at 4:30 and adult admission is only $20 while kids prices are only $5 for kids 6-12 and under 6 is free.
USRA national points will be awarded for this event. RACEceivers are required.
Springfield Raceway will be holding an open practice night on Tuesday, April 16, from 6-8 p.m., and is open to any type of dirt track racing car. Pit passes will be $20 and admission into the grandstands is free.
