Alzheimer's Awareness Race Night May 24 at Fayette County Speedway
WEST UNION, Iowa -- On Friday, May 24, the Fayette County Speedway will be hosting an Alzheimer's Awareness Race Night.
We will be releasing more information on this fundraiser very soon, as well as several more racing events planned for the 2013 racing season.
We have some tricks up our sleeves this season, and can't wait for racing to begin.
Admission will continue to be $5 for the grandstand with kids ages 11 and under free. We take pride in providing spectacular racing entertainment at a fraction of the price of other dirt tracks. Let's have a good, safe racing season and have some fun.
Join us Friday, May 3, for our first scheduled race of the season. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with the green flag dropping on heat races at 7 p.m.
On Friday, May 10, there will be a special memorial night race for Layne Schneider, who raced his Flyer regularly at the Fayette County Speedway. At intermission, all Flyer drivers will be introduced to the grandstand, and then will enter the grandstand area and pass their helmets through the crowd for donations. All money raised will go directly to the family of Schneider, along with the Fayette County Speedway donating their portion of the 50/50 drawing in memory of him and his family.
