An excellent crowd was on hand for the season-opening event at the RPM Speedway.

CRANDALL, Texas -- Thank you to the fantastic crowd of fans, 126 race teams, track workers and sponsors that supported the $17,000 Grand Re-Opening Blowout at the new RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas.

Although it was a cool evening, the track crew kept the racing at a non-stop pace all night; and fans were treated to a fun night at the speedway.

With a new owner and alot of improvements to the facility, the new season is off to a good start. Despite the cold weather, a large crowd was on hand to enjoy the races and there were over 125 race teams in the pits. It was a great way to start the new season.

In the USRA Modified feature, Bobby Malcus muscled his way to the front and pulled away from the field to take the $1,500 top prize. Wayne Melton was second, Cody Smith was third, Charlie Smith was fourth and Scotty Brown was fifth.

Next up at RPM Speedway is the highly-anticipated Honeycutt Sand & Gravel USMTS Modified Nationals, coming Friday, March 15. Joining the touring Modified division will be Limited Modified, Street Stock and Factory Stock classes.

Adult tickets are just $17 with seniors/active military $15, kids 6-12 $5 and ages under 6 free with adult purchase.
