BANKS, Ore. -- The first of two championship nights will take place Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Sunset Speedway Park. Four championships will be crowned at the Banks bullring as the season winds down. The Northwest Extreme Sprint Car Series, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bees, and PHRA Dwarf Cars will on be on the card.

In nine USRA Modified points events there have been nine different winners. With only one race left for the classification the big question is can anyone become the only repeat winner of the season or will the class go ten for ten in the win column?

Drivers that have managed to win triumphs this year are Clint Petty, Sonny Sayre, Doug Davenport, Mark Reser, Rob Ireland, Mark Wauge in the Dancin Bare Topless 100, Jeremy Martin, Kenny Miller and, most recently, Jeremy Shank earlier this month.

The winner of the non-poinst Wild Wild West Modified Shootout race in June was Ken Schrader taking home the trophy.

For Saturday’s action the front gates open up at 3:30 with racing scheduled to start at 6:00. Admission is the following prices: Adults are $13, Seniors $10, Children (6-12) $5, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (2 Adults and 2 Children) $30.

The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway.
