ELMA, Wash. -- Despite a disappointing rain-out last Saturday, the Grays Harbor Raceway is ready to get back in full swing at the 3/8-mile oval with the Pepsi Open Wheel Showdown. The night will be sponsored by Pepsi and the fine folks at Harbor Pacific Bottling Inc. and adults that bring an AMP Energy Drink can in at the gate receives $3.00 off their admission.

Also there will be a giveaway to the GEICO 400 Sprint Cup race at the Chicagoland Speedway and Chicago White Sox baseball game courtesy of 104.7 KDUX Radio and AMP Energy Drink to the lucky listeners that managed to get entered into the contest. Classes that will participate in the event will be the 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds and USAC Ford Focus Midgets.

A bit of a change in the remaining 2012 schedule has occurred as Hobby Stocks have been added on the Saturday, Sept. 1, date for a full points event. Don’t forget to order your reserved seats for the Wednesday August 29th World of Outlaws event presented by Lucky Eagle Casino by logging on to the track website www.graysharborraceway.com and clicking under “Fan Info” or contacting the Ticket Force Call Center at 1-877-840-0457 there will be tickets sold for the event the day of.

The USRA Modifieds return to GHR after a two week hiatus. Scott Miller continues to lead the class in the victory category with three wins in 2012. Joe German, the most recent victor, is the only other repeat winner thus far this campaign. Eight different winners have graced victory lane in eleven races and it has created a list which includes Lawrence O’Conner, Tom Sweatman, Zack Simpson, Scott Lenz, Craig Moore, and Mark Wauge as well as the two aforementioned drivers Miller and German.
