Five events remain at Mineral City Speedway in 2012
FORT DODGE, Iowa -- With several tracks winding up their season early and taking the rest of the year off, we would like to invite drivers to come and race at the Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for our remaining events and some great yeear-end shows still remaining on our schedule in 2012.
Come out and support the track and have some fun. For the rest of the season, every night will be draw/redraw format for all classes, and there will be no additional fees – just pit pass.
Friday, August 10 – Regular Weekly Racing featuring Stock Cars ($350 to win), B-Mods ($350 to win), Hobby Stocks ($300 to win), Hornets ($125 to win) and Econos ($100 to win).
Friday, August 17 – A-Mods will be back in action racing for $500 to win and a minimum $100 to start. Rules for this event are flat tappet steel-headed engines only with no spoiler. Quick changes are allowed with 8,000 rpm chip. Tires allowed are American Racer KK-704 or Hoosier G60. Race format will be draw/redraw. There’s no license required and no track fees, just a pit pass, so come out to one of the raciest half-mile speedways in Iowa and have some fun while taking home some good cash too.
Monday-Tuesday, August 20-21 – Great American Stock Car Shootout. All classes will be running.
Friday, August 24 – Season Championships and Fan Appreciation Night ($5 admission) featuring a $1,000 Kids Money Drop. We will once again be distributing tickets for give-aways, and special awards will be presented to the drivers who bring the most fans to the track on this night.
Friday-Saturday, October 5-6: The Bruce Sommerfeld Memorial will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6, with the finale for the Industrial Material Surplus Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and more. More information on this event is forthcoming.
