ELMA, Wash. -- The always fast and exciting USRA Modifieds will be on hand for two nights of racing for the biggest Modified race in the Northwest this weekend at Grays Harbor Raceway. The Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals will be run on Friday July 27th and Saturday the 28th closing out the month at the 3/8 mile oval. Friday night will feature a special car load price in which a car load of people get into the races for only $25.00.

The event dates back all the way to the year 2000 and in eleven races have produced eight different winners and five different winners in the past five years. Jon DeBenedetti leads the event with most wins winning three consecutive times while Kellen Chadwick is the only other repeat winner with two victories. Kyle Casson is the defending champion of the race and is joined by past winners Jason Beaulieu, Jesse Williamson, Blair Shoemaker, Brian Poppa, and Gus Cooper as past winners. Oregon drivers have taken home the money for the most part winning six times while a driver from California has won it three times and both Washington and British Columbia has produced one win each.

In 2012 Grays Harbor Raceway USRA Modified action there has been seven different winners in nine races. Scott Miller has won the most this season leading the classification with three total wins while Joe German, Lawrence O’Conner, Tom Sweatman, Zack Simpson, Scott Lenz, and Craig Moore have one once this year.

Both Friday and Saturday night’s admission is the following: Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (15-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-14) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Gates open at 2:30 for the pits and 4:30 for the grandstands with racing starting at 6:30.
