ELMA, Wash. -- With three races in the 2012 season the Grays Harbor Raceway will host their first two-day racing event of the season Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, for the Spring Showdown. The weekend will be the 2012 season opener for the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region with the USRA Modifieds and Hobby Stocks racing both days as well.

The USRA Modifieds have not bored race fans at all this season. In three races there have been two different winners and two races decided by green-white-checkered finishes. Scott Miller is on a bit of a hot streak with two straight victories while defending champ Joe German is the other driver to have won this year.

Gates open at 2:30 for the pits and 4:30 for the grandstands with racing starting at 6:30 for both days. Admission for this weekend’s events is the following prices: Adults $18, Senior (62+)/Juniors (15-18)/Military $15, Youths (6-14) $7, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $40, and Premium Seating $25. There will be two day passes also available for Adults for the price of $30.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its sheer large size. Hosting regular racing action from April to September with 360 Sprints, USRA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Hobby Stocks, and Hornets as regular classes. In addition the venue will host the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-National Tour.
