FAIRMONT, Minn. -- Officials from the United States Racing Association have announced that the Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars and USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods will be a part of the program with the USMTS Modifieds on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Fairmont Raceway in Fairmont, Minn.

The added event at the historic half-mile dirt oval at the Martin County Fairgrounds brings the total to 17 dates at 12 dirt ovals for the 2011 Iron Man Challenge campaign.

Up next, the Stock Cars and B-Mods will be back in action sharing the spotlight with the USMTS Modifieds on Wednesday, July 20, for the third Iron Man Challenge stop in two weeks at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and then on Thursday, July 21, for the only appearance of the season at the Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa.

Sat Aug 27 ... Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
Wed Aug 31 ... Fairmont Raceway, Fairmont, Minn.
Thu Sep 1 ... Highway 3 Raceway, Allison, Iowa

Points for both classes will be awarded based on a driver’s 10 best nights. Licensed USRA drivers in both classes will also earn national points in the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series. Some USRA-sanctioned tracks may also award track points during Iron Man Challenge events.

The points fund for the Stock Cars carries a $2,000 top prize with the tenth-place finisher earning $200. In the B-Mod class, the points champion will earn $700 with tenth-place taking home $100.
