I-90 Speedway's Barstad Memorial postponed
HARTFORD, S.D. -- Another round of cold, rainy weather forced I-90 Speedway officials to postpone the Loren Barstad Memorial for 360 Sprint Cars until next Saturday, May 21.
Barstad, who devoted his life to racing and building street rods, passed away last October. As a sprint car owner, he worked with several drivers including Dusty Wasmund, Dusty Ballenger, Ben Van Vooren, Johnn Cressman, Brooke Tatnell, Clint Garner, Eric Lutz and Robby Wolfgang. He supplied motors to Wasmund and Casey Heser last season. Heser enjoyed Barstad's presence as they teamed to win the 360 Sprint Car title at Minnesota's Jackson Speedway in 2010.
Next Saturday's Barstad Memorial will pay $1200 to win and $200 to start. The sprint car special will headline I-90 Speedway's Paramount Racing Series and will also feature USRA Karl Performance Parts B-Mods.
