KELLYVILLE, Okla. -- Defending Creek County Speedway track champion Ho Dean missed the first three weeks of the season and has a little catching up to do. Dean took a big step towards that goal with his first USRA RHS Modified win of the season Saturday.

Dean shot around Dena Wilson on lap 11 then led the final laps to victory.

The race was plagued with yellow flags with a total of seven delays in the race. Jason Redman was the early leader but after a four-car pile-up in turn 1 on lap 7, Wilson raced out of turn 4 on the restart with the lead. Dean moved into second with Brett Wilson in third.

Then four laps later Dean made his move. Wilson found herself racing to stay ahead of her son, Brett, and managed to hold her position to finish second.

Brian McClelland started second row outside and led all 20 laps on his way to a second USRA champ sprint victory.

Ricky York gave chase early and caught McClelland in lapped traffic on lap 11. York briefly challenged but McClelland gunned his sprinter back out front and stayed there. York soon found himself fighting to retain second only to give it up to defending track champion Brent Bates. York held on to third.

There will be no racing program this coming Saturday, April 23, at Creek County Speedway so fans may attend the World of Outlaws sprint car program at Salina Highbanks Speedway. Racing will resume on April 30 with USRA Champ Sprints, USRA RHS Modified, E-Sprints, Super Stocks, Mini-Stocks, Factory Stocks and Front-Wheel Drives racing at 6 p.m. The Injected Sprints will be off.
