RACEceivers required in 2011
OSKALOOSA, Iowa -- RACEceivers will be required for all competitors at the Southern Iowa Speedway in 2011.
RACEceiver – the world's leader in one-way communications for auto racing – is the Official Driver Communication of the Southern Iowa Speedway. The RACEceiver allows track officials to communicate individually with drivers on the track to increase increasing safety and operating efficiency.
The RACEceiver is a compact radio receiver that conveniently fits into the driver's pocket. Utilizing the RACEceiver saves time during race events and facilitates getting cars lined up prior to the race, making the experience more enjoyable for fans. Furthermore, the RACEceiver gives officials the ability to notify drivers if something is wrong with their car and quickly direct them to the pits, thus enhancing the level of safety for all drivers on the track.
Drivers competing at the Southern Iowa Speedway may rent RACEceivers on a per-night basis or purchase their own from the USMTS, and may use them in competition at hundreds of race tracks, series and sanctioning bodies that use the RACEceiver to enhance their programs.
Cost will be $15 to rent or $105 to purchase a RACEceiver at the track. Each driver will also need to purchase a set of ear buds, which range in quality and price from $15-90.
