USRA RHS Modifieds part of Creek County Speedway’s Saturday night program in 2011

KELLYVILLE, Okla. -- Weekly racing is scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 5, at the Creek County Speedway with the track’s first points race of the 2011 season and the first race for the Modifieds under the United States Racing Association banner.

“The addition of the USRA sanction will allow the Modifieds to race for USRA track and national points in addition to the weekly Creek County Speedway points,” said promoter Jackie Green. “ We are aligning with Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, Lake County Speedway in Ardmore, Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Tri-State Speedway in Pocola and Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee – all of which will sanction Modifieds under USRA and run under the same set of rules.”

Drivers in the USRA RHS Modified division will compete for a points fund worth $1,500 at season’s end to the track champion and a $10,000 top prize awaiting the division’s national champion in the USRA Weekly Racing Series, plus thousands in contingency awards to drivers throughout the country.

Up to eight classes could be racing this season at the exciting quarter-mile bullring, including E-Sprints, Injected Sprints, Two-Barrel Sprints, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Mini-Stocks and Front-Wheel Drives along with the USRA RHS Modified.

With that many classes, Green intends to set up a rotation schedule so no more than five classes are racing each week. This number could change as the rotation schedule is worked out. A complete week-by-week schedule will be posted soon on the Creek County Speedway website at www.creekspeedway.com

Two play days have been scheduled for the upcoming 2011 racing season. Practice for all classes will take place on Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, weather permitting. Gates will open at noon and practice begins at 3 p.m. Pit passes will be $10 and grandstand admission is free.

The Creek County Speedway is a semi-banked quarter-mile dirt oval located southwest of Tulsa on I-44 to exit 211, then 0.3 mile south on SR 33, then 1.0 mile west on US 66. The USRA was founded in 2002 with the sanctioning of Modifieds and Stock Cars at the Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville, Ark. Hobby Stocks were added in 2003 and the organization grew steadily over the next three years with 14 tracks hosting USRA events in 2005. The B-Mod division arrived on the scene in 2006 and since then, USRA Weekly Racing Series national champions have been crowned in all four premier divisions.
