What a picture perfect day for racing in Southern Minnesota on Saturday with blue skies, a light breeze and mid-70s temps. The crowd was absolutely awesome on the night and the drivers showed up in force with 141 cars checking into the back gate on Championship Night at the Deer Creek Speedway.

Season Championship Night at the I-44 Speedway fell victim to a late evening hard-driving rain that forced cancellation of the evening's races. Track officials are looking at a possible make-up date as two classes had yet to be decided.

H & S Motors presented the Season Championships on Friday, Aug. 22 at the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa with five winners emerging on the night, along with five drivers being crowned 2008 track champions.

The USRA Hobby Stock feature went to Jason McDaniel of Eldon, who picked up his third straight and 16th win of the 2008 season by passing Don Nunnikhoven with three laps remaining.

With 90 race teams in the pits, action again was fast and furious on the Action Track of the Ozarks as the chase for the championship got even closer in the USRA Modifieds as former Midway Speedway track champion Jamie Ragland captured his second straight feature win.

It was Season Championship Night Friday at the Chateau Raceway powered by Miners Outdoor Power & Recreation. A field of more than 100 cars filled the pits for another night of racin action to determine the track champions in the seven classes.

The irresistible force that is Justin "Whitey" Folk continues at Humboldt Speedway, as the man scored another USRA Modified feature win Friday night.

The high banks of the I-44 Speedway will be holding the 2008 Season Championships Saturday night with action set for the USRA Modifieds plus five other classes. J's Family Dining, Clayton's Conoco and Commerce Bank will be the nightly sponsors.

The 2008 chase for the Midway Speedway championships continue this Friday night with action in the USRA Modifieds. Coming off a very successful night last Friday, the parity of the action continues Jimmy Willis of Macks Creek continues atop the points.

Racing action at the Southern Iowa Speedway on Wednesday was sponsored by Paul DeGeest, who is running for re-election as sheriff of Mahaska County. The night provided another nice crowd of loyal fans and a strong field of cars battling for track and national points in the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.
