Tri-State Speedway adds full-fendered USRA divisions in 2021

Officials from the mighty Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma, announced last week that all four classes in the 2021 racing season will be sanctioned by the USRA.

The popular high-banked 3/8-mile red clay oval boasted some of the best weekly car counts in the USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods during the 2020 campaign. They hope to duplicate that success with the addition of the USRA Stock Cars and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks.

“We have thought long and hard about our full body classes and we feel USRA sanctioning will provide competitive racing with cost reduction while providing a year-after-year rule package that will deliver overall longevity,” said Tri-State Speedway owner/promoter Michael Hoover.

Track officials added that the Super Stock class will have a one-year transition period for the 2021 season. Click here to download the transition rules.

“We will be requesting USRA to visit our track from time to time to ensure that we are keeping all of our cars to USRA standards. We are purchasing new tech equipment and will strive to keep improving in this area year after year.”

Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks will have two track amendments. A floater rear-end and right rear bead lock will be permitted at Tri-State Speedway. Also, a roll bar added to the halo area will be permitted to meet USRA safety specifications. Refer to 2021 Sunoco USRA Factory Stock rules when published.

Watch for the 2021 Tri-State Speedway schedule to be posted soon. Big money races in all four USRA classes are planned.

The Tri-State Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval located 1.6 miles west of the Arkansas-Oklahoma State line on US 271, then 0.3 mile north (1705 W Race Track Rd, Pocola, OK 74902). For more information, call (918) 575-1369 or check out tri-statespeedway.com.

All competitors at USRA-sanctioned events must possess a USRA Competition License or temporary license prior to participating in the event.

The first 300 racers to purchase a USRA Competition License will receive a $50 gift card from Summit Racing Equipment. What’s more, all USRA Competition Licenses include a $100,000 excess medical insurance policy.

A USRA competitor license may be purchased online at usraracing.com/register or by calling (515) 832-6000. Only USRA-sanctioned racetracks offer USRA temp licenses for purchase.
