In what would be considered his biggest win ever, second-generation driver Jake Richards of Lansing, Kansas, took the lead from Jon Sheets on the 28th lap and withstood a late-race charge from Lebanon's Kris Jackson in pocketing $5,600 at the Lebanon Midway Speedway's second annual TJR Factory 56 USRA B-Mod Nationals before a capacity crowd Saturday night.

The 56-lap event saw Sheets jump to the opening lead while a tight pack led by Richards followed. Sheets checked out but the long green flag run saw Richards break free and run down the leader.

The first 46 laps went caution-free as Richards and Sheets were placing a great race up front as defending event winner and USRA national champion Jackson moved into third, followed closely by Terry Schultz, track points leader Dillon McCowan, Humboldt and Caney Valley Speedway track champion Tyler Kidwell and veteran Randy Zimmerman.

Richards showed a lot of patience while applying pressure to Sheets when a smooth move put Richards into the top spot.

Just as it was shaping up to be an eight-car battle, the caution waved when Springfield Raceway track champ Jackie Dalton lost a driveshaft on the backstretch.

On the restart, Brian Bolin and Jesse Stovall got together to end their nights while Brantlee Gotschall was also involved. Andy Bryant pulled to the pits with a flat tire and rejoined the pack along with did McCowan.

Jackson went top side to get around Sheets for second and started to close on Richards. The duo pulled away from Sheets as Schultz, Zimmerman and Kidwell battled for the third spot.

Jackson looked inside, but Richards kept a smooth line to hold back the charges and take the win.

Dalton took home the "B" feature honors. Steve Muilenburg captured the "C" feature and the "D" feature went to Krew Walburn.

Former Midway champion Sam Petty ran the alphabet soup, coming from the "D" feature and racing his way into the "A" feature.

The Lebanon Midway Speedway will be back in action on Friday, September 18, with more USRA B-Mod action. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 8.
