I-90 Speedway is updating the 2020 schedule, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. May 9 will now be a practice day for teams with the season opener scheduled for the following Saturday, May 16.

The May 9 practice day will start at noon and run until dusk. The grandstands will not be open for this event. The fee is $25 per person to enter the pit area. The track will be prepared and paperwork for the 2020 season will be available for all competitors.

The change is schedule is in response to an executive order from Governor Kristi Noem. With many of the state’s COVID-19 cases being reported in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties, those counties have a stay-at-home order in place for anyone 65 years of age and older, and for anyone with an underlying health condition that could cause complications with the novel coronavirus. That executive order is set to expire on May 11.

Online registration remains open at myracepass.com.

The season opener for the summit USRA Weekly Racing Series is now set for May 16 and will feature  USRA B-Mods and Mensink Racing Produts USRA Hobby Stocks plus 305 Sprint Cars and Late Model Street Stocks.

Track management will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in the geographic region of our speedway and teams to make the best decisions possible.
