82 Speedway lid-lifter this Saturday

This coming Saturday, March 14, at 8 p.m., the lid will be lifted on the 2020 racing season at 82 Speedway in Petty, Texas. The ‘Land of the XL’ features a super-wide multi-groove progressive banking surface that is a 1/4-mile in distance on the pole and exactly a 3/10-mile on the top groove of the speedway.

March 14 will feature a complete racing program for the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks plus the Texas Stocks, Eco Stocks, Eco Mods and Front-Wheel Drive Tuners.

Each division has great driver payback.

Reminder: 82 Speedway is NOT the old Paris Speedway. 82 Speedway is about 15 minutes West of Paris, located on Highway 82 on the east edge of Petty. It's just a 90-minute drive from Dallas. and located at 16369 US Hwy 82 Petty, TX 75470.

Grandstands open at 6 p.m., the driver draw cutoff and pit meeting happen at 7:15 (all cars will draw for heat race starting position, all heats earn finishing and passing points, features are straight up), track packing starts at 7:30 and hot laps with racing to follow immediately.

Anyone under the age of 18 entering the pit area must complete an annual Minor Release Form prior to entering.

Transponders are required and rentals are $15 (with ID, any damage done to transponders is drivers liability). Annual car registration is $40. RACEceivers are not available as a rental but are required. Reserved pit spaces are available for the season which can be purchased (along with car registration) at 82speedway.com then click the Driver Registration button on the upper left of the home page.

No one likes rain on race day. But here is the track policy if, and when, it intervenes: If the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes.

If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). There will be no grandstand tickets valid for a future date if races are rained out after the completion of heat races.

Race Teams: 82 Speedway generally does not require you to change gearing to race here if you are usually racing on quarter-mile track. When the track was originally built it was advertised as a 3/8-mile but has been reconfigured and is nearly an exact 1/4-mile on the pole and 3/10-mile if you're racing the top groove. The racing surface is 60+ feet wide.

It's going to be a FANtastic night of racing at 82 Speedway this Saturday, March 14. Come join us for all the action—all at family-affordable prices.
