Former Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national and track champion Ryan Gillmore, and current track points leader and defending champion Jackie Dalton split the weekend twin bill in action at the Springfield Raceway during a two-day event at the track.

On Friday, a strong field checked in for the $400-to-win, 20-lap feature and nobody was disappointed as Gillmore, Midway Speedway track champion Dillion McCowan and Clint Johnson captured the qualifying heats.

The redraw placed Dalton and rookie Cayden Stacye on the front row with Sam Petty in row 2 and McCowan and Gillmore in row 3. Dalton jumped to the early lead as Johnson took to the high side while Gillmore was looking for running room as the action was three-wide all over the track. A long green run saw the lead pack swapping spots lap after lap as the Dalton and Gillmore began to get into lapped traffic around the halfway mark.

Dalton was keeping to the middle lane as Gillmore swung to the high side and used the traffic to his advantage to take the lead as Johnson was glued to the lead duo while James Thompson was on the move after starting 15th. Only two cautions slowed the action and on lap 15 the pack bunched-up following a caution. On the restart, Dalton picked the bottom groove as Johnson had been riding top side. Gillmore fired and was trying to keep Dalton at bay as Johnson was right on the edge looking for more while the race for fourth featured four different drivers.

Gillmore kept Dalton and Johnson at bay to gather his 11th win of the season with Stacye and McCowan rounding out the top 5.

Saturday night was another $400-to-win show with qualifying heats going to Danny Martin, J.C. Morton, Gillmore and Ricky Watkins. The redraw inverted the top 8 cars placing Justin Comer and Dalton in row 1 with Thompson and Mike Foster in row 2.

Dalton got the early lead over Comer as the top 8 were all over the smooth black surface. An early yellow waved for Thompson as he spun while running in the front pack. Morton and Gilmore were strong on the restart as Dalton was holding the pack at bay.

Dalton was able to keep both Gillmore and Morton at bay to grab his sixth feature win with Gilmore, Morton, Comer and Petty, who came from 11th to fifth while Stacye charged from 18th to ninth with great action all 20 laps.
