Springfield's Ryan Gillmore came charging from his fourth starting spot to grab the lead from Stetson Johnson and Jason Snodgrass and then withstood a late-race caution to fend back current Out-Pace USRA B-Mod points leader Jackie Dalton to grab his eighth feature win of the season in a fast-paced-action track with two- and three-wide racing on the quick quarter-mile of the Springfield Raceway.

Gillmore has been on a roll as the former Out-Pace USRA B-Mod national champion has been on his game in the last month, racking up top-threes in his Yeoman Engines/ENS/Hoffman Race Cars No. 66.

Gillmore excited the capacity Springfield crowd as the speedway was paying tribute to long-time area great Ken Essary on Flying Farmer 55 Night.

Gillmore laid back just a tad and then split the post with a three-wide pass to take the top spot. Out in front on the long green run, he had lapped traffic coming quickly until a late-race caution bunched the pack together as Dalton was set to attempt to stop the young lead foot.

Dalton picked the low side and third-place running Sam Petty went to the outside spot. At the drop of the green restart, Gillmore had Dalton make a charge, but after one lap Gillmore was in a different zip code and pulled away.

Dalton took the runner-up spot with Petty, Danny Martin and a hard-charging James Thompson completing the top five.

Qualifying heats went to Petty, Dalton and Gillmore as Gillmore pulled a six-car inversion.
