Double your fun at I-35 Speedway Aug. 9-10

It’s a double your fun weekend at I-35 Speedway. Double the fun racing Friday and Saturday. Double the fun 4th Annual Smokin Trackside BBQ Bash and Casi Joy concert. Double your fun with double USRA Modified features on Saturday. Two days, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10, the fun continues at I-35 Speedway.

Friday brings the start of the annual Smokin Trackside BBQ Bash, Racing at 7:30 and the Casi Joy concert following the races. Gates open at 5 p.m. Adults are $15, seniors (62 and over) $12, and ages 18 and younger are free each night. For concert-only attendees the cover charge is $5.

Friday night, want to taste some outstanding barbeque before the judges get to taste it? The People’s Choice Barbeque Contest will determine who can barbeque the best chicken wings. For a nominal fee, you get to try the succulent wings and then vote for the wing that you believe taste the best. If that is not enough of a meal for you the Trackside Bar & Grill will be open with barbeque pulled pork sandwich special.

Saturday the track will enjoy the aroma of BBQ cooking as the KCBS judges will be in full-scale taste-testing the BBQ teams brisket, pork, chicken and ribs. Saturday night the aroma changes to the powerful engines of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 and racing begins at 7. USRA Modifieds, American Racer USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods top the bill with Pure Stocks, E Mods, Late Models and Sport Compacts rcaing too.

I-35 Speedway is located at exit 64 off Interstate 35. Concessions are available throughout the facility. Large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sweet funnel cakes, root beer floats and beverages of your choice are all available to satisfy your appetite. With clean restrooms and always-free parking, where else would you be this weekend other than I-35 Speedway?
