Defending Springfield Raceway track champion and current points leader Jackie Dalton of Carthage topped the double-header features for the Out-Pace USRA B-Mods presented by Reliable Chevrolet by passing Sam Petty Saturday in another action-packed night.

In the first feature—a make-up of the June 1 rain-out—Dalton started from the sixth starting spot and had to run down Petty after some great three-wide action all over the quarter-mile high-banked oval using a late-race caution in taking the lead with only three laps remaining.

Veteran Wes Long, Phillip Caddy and James Thompson completed a tough top 5 finish.

In the second feature, it was a repeat as Dalton and Petty showed the fast way around.

Steton Johnson set the early pace after a ten-car inversion set the field with Danny Martin and Johnson bringing the field down for the 20-lap feature.

An early red flag halted the action as Cody Rider rode over the turn 3 banking. When the green flew again, Petty had to wait a couple of laps before grabbing the lead as Dalton started his charge running on the edge of the top groove to take the lead from Petty and take his second win of the season,.

Petty, Thompson, Levi Phillips and Johnston completed the top 5.

Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series action featuring Out-Pace USRA B-Mod action continues next Saturday night.
