Campbell makes first visit to Lebanon pay off

Mexico's Cole Campbell made his first trip to the Lebanon Midway Speedway worth the haul as he took advantage of his front row starting spot and then held back early challenges from Mark Wolfe before a mid-race battle with defending track champion Sam Petty to take the Out-Pace USRA B-Mod feature win on Friday night.

Campbell and Petty went bumper to bumper until a restart on lap 8, and then Campbell flexed his muscles, leaving the race for second between Petty and 2017 track champion Tyler Brown while Wolfe, also making his first-ever start at the track, a strong showing finishing fourth with Robbie Ewing completing the top five.

The lap-8 incident with Dalton Keith spinning while running in the battle for a top five run collected Brian Myers, ending his night and hard-charging Cory Johnson.

Last week's winner, Tyler Knudtson, went out with damage after spinning on the opening lap back in the pack.

Two drivers who had strong runs from deep in the pack were Dillion McCowan and Kelly Hicks. McCowan started 15th in the grid and raced to sixth while Hicks kept his nose clean coming from 11th to seventh. Current points leader Kris Jackson was absent Friday.

Qualifying heats went to Brown and Ewing.
